Meeting on Dengue Prevention and Response Held Under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Swat
Swat: A review meeting of the District Dengue Prevention and Response Unit was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Swat, Mr. Saleem Jan Marwat, to assess the current situation of dengue cases across the district and to evaluate the measures being taken to control the spread of the virus.
During the meeting, Deputy District Health Officer Swat and District Dengue Focal Person, Dr. Fazal Arif, briefed the participants on the latest situation of dengue in the district. He presented a detailed report on the preventive measures and the coordinated efforts of various departments, including the Health Department, Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Swat, Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs), Public Health Engineering, and other relevant agencies.
Representatives of all concerned departments attended the meeting and discussed in detail the current dengue situation, preventive activities, awareness campaigns, and operational challenges.
The Deputy Commissioner Swat directed the relevant departments to continue anti-dengue measures in affected areas, including fumigation, mosquito spraying, and sanitation drives, to prevent further breeding of dengue mosquitoes. He also emphasized the need to enhance public awareness campaigns, particularly in educational institutions and public places, to educate citizens about preventive measures against dengue.
Deputy Commissioner Swat Mr. Saleem Jan Marwat further directed the Health Department to ensure that isolation wards for dengue patients remain fully functional in all hospitals to handle any emergency situation effectively.
He reiterated that strict preventive and control measures are being taken at the district level as the safety and health of citizens remain the top priority of the district administration. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that dengue prevention is a collective social responsibility and called upon every citizen to play an active role in curbing the spread of this virus.
