Secretary Energy and Power Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Zubair, along with Deputy Commissioner Swat, Saleem Jan Marwat, visited the Gorkin Matiltan 84 MW Hydropower Plant and the Gabral Kalam Hydropower Plant.
During the visit, the progress of ongoing construction works at both projects was thoroughly inspected. The issues of local landowners were heard, and the warehouse was also inspected. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Swat directed the Assistant Commissioner Bahrain to ensure the immediate handover of the Gabral Kalam Hydropower Plant warehouse to the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO).
The Secretary also listened to public complaints regarding water supply and instructed the concerned departments to take immediate measures for ensuring proper arrangements. Local residents also raised concerns regarding job security, while the employees of the Gorkin Matiltan Hydropower Plant reported delays in salary disbursement. The Secretary issued strict directions to ensure timely payment of salaries.
Later, the Secretary and the Deputy Commissioner visited the under-construction staff colony of the Gabral Kalam Hydropower Plant. They inspected the work in progress and directed that the remaining work be expedited on a priority basis to ensure timely completion of the project.
Furthermore, the Secretary Energy and Power and the Deputy Commissioner Swat also inspected the transmission line sites of the Gorkin Matiltan Hydropower Plant. On this occasion, the Assistant Commissioner Bahrain was directed to resolve public grievances at the earliest so that work on the project could commence without delay.
